We grade and build a proper compacted base specifically to manage clay soil movement near the pool structure.
• Frost heave and freeze-thaw cycles: Toronto winters push moisture in the ground through repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which is the single biggest cause of heaved, uneven pavers and cracked concrete surrounds. We use base depths, drainage, and jointing methods matched to local frost depth requirements — not a one-size-fits-all installation.

We also account for pool chemicals and salt exposure when selecting hardscape materials and finishes, since chlorine and saltwater splash can degrade the wrong choice of stone or sealant far faster than normal weathering would.
