You have an idea, a vision, an idyllic retreat for your family and friends.
When contemplating a landscaping project, it is important to do your research and determine what your goals are for your project. Here are a couple things to do to help you prepare:
- Explore the internet, gather pictures and have a clear understanding of your preferences. Do you like modern design with squared elements and crisp edges, a cottage garden feel with natural flagstone stepping stones leading through a garden full of flowers, or something more traditional like a cabana with a peaked shingled roof and posts cladded with stone?
- Ask yourself what will the area be used for? Entertainment, seclusion, to extend your living space?
- Are there things that need to be addressed with your new landscape? Perhaps there’s a neighbour’s window that faces into your backyard, or an area where the rainwater always puddles.
- Have a clear idea of your budget.
