About the Project:

Tucked away in an older subdivision in Etobicoke, this backyard needed a change. The 80’s contemporary design of this house with white brick leant itself to an modern update. The existing wood patio deck was rotting and falling apart, so the homeowner was deciding upon replacing the deck or installing stone.

Site Challenges and Solutions:

  • The existing rotten deck had pool lines running underneath. Our stone patio installation required us to build retaining walls to elevate the patio and keep the pool lines hidden under ground.

  • Pool equipment storage box needed to be completely re-designed and built.

  • Awkward placement of the garage door made for a tricky deck design, which was executed using PVC decking material, a glass railing and a floating stone staircase

  • Maximizing patio space and creating metal planter boxes against the fence solved desired need for a large patio with gardens.

  • Bar for food preparation with a roof gives the client a resort style feel when having parties

Special Features:

  • PVC deck with glass railing

  • “Floating” natural stone steps

  • Landscape lighting

  • Metal planter boxes

  • Built in bar with roof covering

  • Pool equipment screen covering
